The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devasting impact on everyone’s lives, however, not everyone has been impacted equally. Black Americans compose about 13% of the population of the USA, but make up for approximately one third of hospitalizations. These minorities groups are also more at risk of exposure as they tend to work more in frontline positions. Not only has COVID-19 affected peoples health physically, but its also had an impact on the populations mental health as well.
MiOra Interns Rita Kigoonya, Katherine Kricorian, Brianna Rochebrun, and Rohan Cutinha along with the guidance of MiOra executives and board members Dr. Ozlem Equils, Klaudi Lekaj, Dr. Christopher Da Costa, and Dr. Karin Kricorian have developed a manuscript and submitted for publication. The manuscript focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of minority young adults.
