Purpose and Activities
The foundation supports programs designed to perpetuate Huna culture and promote education for the Huna people through scholarships, cultural grants, and vocational assistance.

The grantmaker has identified the following area(s) of interest:

Cultural Education Assistance
The foundation awards grants of up to $300 to Huna Totem shareholders and descendants for instructional activities associated with traditional practices or art forms. The program is designed to assist in preserving, advocating, and learning the history and culture of the Huna people. Applicants must be accepted into a program to learn an art form which is related to the traditional culture of the Huna people.
Grants to Individuals Program
Scholarships to AK Huna Totem shareholders and descendants for full-time graduate, undergraduate, cultural education, or vocational study.
Higher Education Assistance
The foundation awards grants of up to $2,000 to Huna Totem shareholders and descendants to meet students’ financial needs after personal funds and other resources are exhausted. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; be accepted by or attending an accredited college or university; enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours; and have good academic standing.
Vocational Education Assistance
The foundation awards grants to Vocational Education and Apprenticeship programs for Huna Totem shareholders or descendants to receive training that leads to gainful employment. Vocational Education courses must be approved by a National Accreditation Association or the Alaska Department of Education’s Division of Vocational Education. Apprentice programs must be approved by the U.S. Bureau of Apprenticeship Training. All applicants must be unemployed.

1. Detailed description of project and amount of funding requested
2. Copy of current year’s organizational budget and/or project budget
3. Copy of most recent annual report/audited financial statement/990
