YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

We provide an opportunity to do research to all students.

- MiOra Interns Educating with KINDness! On August 11, 2018, five MiOra interns—Ayana Arroyo (CSULB), Angela Gomez (CSULB), Michelle Seu (UCI), Daniel Lopez (JHU), and Carlos Garcia (Compton-USD) educated the residents of Compton on HPV, Flu and Meningitis vaccines at the Compton Family Health Fair.

Interns conduct cutting edge health, policy and STEM research projects. They work remotely on their own time and wherever they are. They learn how to develop surveys, collect and analyze data, do literature research, develop poster and manuscripts. They gain experience in networking and learn how to most effectively connect with experts and potential future professors and employers.

MiOra interns elevate their career trajectory and help others while they are helping themselves. They find their strengths and purpose, and improve the health of their community through scientific discovery, health fairs, community outreach campaigns and policy initiatives. They present their accomplishments at local scientific, public health and quality improvement conferences, and build their communication skills and confidence.

I would recommend MiOra to a friend because there are a variety of projects related to the Health and STEM fields. Thanks to MiOra, I have published two abstracts and posted an article on the company’s facebook page. I am currently working on two projects- one related to diabetes and the other related to mental health.

MiOra has greatly enhanced my understanding of and ability to carry out scientific research. I have learned so much from the other students and mentors that I have been surrounded by.  Regardless of previous experience, MiOra will find a place for you and help you to succeed at whatever projects you choose to pursue.
