MiOra educational nonprofit (www.miora.org) and STEM Academy invited Occupational Therapist (OT) Rashelle Nagata, who is doing her clinical doctorate at the University of Southern California (USC), to provide tips to the students on techniques to lower anxiety and better manage their time.
The students complained about escalating stress over school work, grades, work experiences, extracurricular activities and relationships upon entering junior and senior year.
The interactive program was very well received. The students said that they really enjoyed the healthy vs. non-healthy comparisons as well as the stretching exercises.
Thank you to Rashelle Nagata, STEM Academy Counselor Carolyn Kavner, teachers Mel Malhi, Yesenia Flores, Cynthia Ramirez, Lead Teacher Esther Dabagyan and the Principal Paul Hirsch.
