MiOra educational nonprofit (www.miora.org) organized a career event at the STEM Academy at Bernstein High School, Hollywood, California, together with the support of the Principal Mr. Paul Hirsch and the Lead Teacher, EL Coordinator & Bio-medical Instructor Ms. Esther Dabagyan. MiOra mentor Dr. Chatterjee, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the Sanford School of Medicine, University of South Dakota, provided information on how to get into medical school and other healthcare careers to approximately 40 high school students. During the Q&A session, the students asked about the career paths and life styles of psychologists, pharmacists, nurses and surgeons. They also learned about the free, online MiOra certificate training programs to improve their post-graduation employability and to strengthen their resumes. The event was very well received, and the students were motivated. MiOra is thankful to the dedicated teacher Ms. Komal (Mel) Malhi for opening her classroom. Students! Always aim for the stars!
