MiOra (www.miora.org) partnered with the University of Southern California (USC) Office of Pre-Health Advising and Inter-Health Council to bring mentors from diverse backgrounds to the USC Pre-Health students. MiOra President Dr. Ozlem Equils moderated this exciting event “Mentoring the Future of Health: An evening with Dr. Monica Soni and Dr. Christopher da Costa.”
MiOra mentors Dr. Chris da Costa, a Medical Director at Asahi Kasei Pharma America, Dr. Monica Soni, Director of Continuity Care at Martin Luther King, Jr. Outpatient Center within the Los Angeles Department of Health Services (LADHS) and Dr. Ozlem Equils discussed their educational journeys, careers, challenges and mentorship experience with a group of approximately 110 Pre-Health students from various backgrounds and majors.
The presentation was very well received. At the completion of the panel session, the inspired students surrounded the mentors and asked more questions.
