Distinguished Educational Leadership Awards
The foundation honors one principal from a private school and 19 principals from local public school systems in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The award is designed to recognize principals who go beyond the day-to-day demands of their position to create an exceptional educational environment and to encourage excellence in school leadership. The award includes a reception at The Post and participation in an educational seminar.
Grants to Individuals Program
Awards by nomination only for educational leadership and excellence in teaching.
The Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Awards
The foundation awards $3,000 to an outstanding teacher selected in each of the 19 local public systems, and one award to a teacher from a private school in the metropolitan area. The award is limited to school systems in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The award is designed to recognize excellence in teaching and to encourage creative and quality instruction.
