Purpose and Activities
The foundation supports programs designed to promote youth; and awards college scholarships to students and grants to students and advisors for educational tours and science fairs.

Grants to Individuals Program
Scholarships to high school seniors who are children of members of Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative. Grants to junior high school students to attend an educational tour of Washington, D.C. Awards and prizes to support science and other educational during the Youth Engineering and Science Fair.
SSVEC Foundation Scholarship Program
The foundation awards twenty $1,000 college scholarships to high school seniors who are children of members of Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative. One graduate from Benson, Bowie, Buena, Patagonia, San Simon, St. David, Tombstone, Valley Union, and Willcox high schools will each be awarded a scholarship. One scholarship will also be awarded to 12th grade graduates of home schools, charter schools, and private or public high schools in Cochise, Pima, Graham, or Santa Cruz counties.
Washington Youth Tour
The foundation sponsors six junior high school students from Benson, Bowie, Buena, Patagonia, St. David, San Simon, Tombstone, Valley Union, or Willcox high schools to attend a one-week educational tour of Washington, D.C.
YES Fair
The foundation awards grants, equipment, and travel expenses to students and advisors for the Youth Engineering Science Fair (YES Fair), where students in grades 5-12 compete in up to 14 science categories to receive cash awards and prizes. Two grand prize winners in the 9-12 divisions are also selected to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
