HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! DO YOU WANT TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
MIT Launch Summer (www.mitlaunch.com) brings together high school students from all over the US and world each summer to MIT campus to become entrepreneurs in a 4-week program.
MIT Launch Clubs program provides resources to the high schools around the world to start entrepreneurship clubs in the comfort of their home, with teams becoming entrepreneurs and starting real companies (www.mitlaunchclubs.com). Course materials and activities are provided to club organizers through an online course platform and through frequent webinars. Teams are given a network of mentors with a wealth of business and entrepreneurship experience to help guide and support them throughout the startup process. MIT Launch provides forums and conferences to all clubs members, plus a final mentorship and pitch event held at MIT for the finalist teams.
During the pilot period, in 2014-2015 school year, almost 100 companies were started across ~20 alumni schools. Top teams came to MIT in the spring of 2015 to pitch their ideas and received mentorship to learn and improve their companies.
